This past weekend, Pam and I spent two days, pulling weeds, removing sprinkler piping and fighting a Bird of Paradise to the death (the plant lost!). This is all in preparation for the drought tolerant landscaping that we're planning on doing.
We had hoped to move on to the next step, tilling the top layer of dirt, this weekend, but as luck would have it, its going to rain for the next 5 days. Now, we need the rain, but really, it hasn't really rained in almost a year and now all of a sudden we're cooking on this thing and it rains.
I think I know the reason: I also washed my car and the nature gods can't have that.
This is what the front yard looks like so far:
We plan on keeping those palm trees (just too hard and pricey for us to get rid of at this point). We're not sure what we're going to do with the barber shop light the previous owner put in, but we'll think of something. Any ideas?
