Back in March of this year, I was contacted by an editor from the French publisher Hoebeke in Paris. It turns out they were putting together a new book about creative projects people were doing utilizing IKEA furniture and products. Someone there had seen our blog post about our kitchen island where we had taken a dresser, wood countertops, and a kitchen base cabinet, and put them together to create a new island for our new fixer-upper of a house. This editor, Audrey, wanted to know if we would be interested in collaborating with them on this book.
"Oui, oui!" I wrote back, flattered and honored that we were being asked at all. Over the next few months we sent her pictures of the project and details about the overall cost, etc.
Well, fast foward 9 short months, and at last, here it is! It's called Réinventer IKEA, and if you turn to page 153....
The book itself is wonderful, with lots of cool projects that span everything from lighting to even kids' toys. The authors, Isabelle Bruno and Christine Baillet did a fantastic job.
